Set a static IP Address on DNS323

Setting a static IP Address means that the DNS323 will always be at the same place on your local network. This avoids problems that can be caused by different devices on the network getting different addresses as they are switched on and off at different times or in different orders.

In addition to setting a static IP address you need to tell your router not to assign that address to any other device explain that in simple terms and show me how to change the IP range

Make sure the DNS323 is switched on and that you know the IP Address that it is using. If you know that address click here to skip down the page.

Finding out the current IP Address of the DNS323

Also note that the existing IP Address is shown to the right and is 'greyed out' meaning that you can't change it.

Change the DNS323 to a Static IP Address by clicking the small circle (radio button) to the left of Static IP, when you do the text boxes will become available to type into - see next screenshot.

This will save the changes and log you out of the D-Link setup because you have changed the IP Address setup. You should login again using your admin password and check that the changes that you made we correctly saved.

That's it . . . every time your DNS323 starts up it will use the IP Address that you set.
