The D-Link DNS323 (DNS-323) is a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that holds 2 SATA hard discs and should enable backup etc.
I had such problems getting this working. I spent over 2 hours talking to DLink support, I appreciated the time spent by their technicians, but their responses indicated that they were working from scripts and had never really used this type of device, nor did they really understand the issues.

I do I can access the unit via my ftp client and transfer

So as you can see, I gave the URL for the web pages that I had put together which one would think would be a great help to a support person, so how did dlink respond . . .
Thank you for contacting D-Link Networks Technical Support.
What is the size of the USB harddisk?
Did you use the DLink Easy Search Utility?
Does it displayed the volumes available for mapping?
Choose an available drive letter. Click Connect to map the selected volume from the DLink Easy Search Utility.
If I was a schoolteacher I would be asking questions like "Did you read the question?" and "Did you visit the web pages that I took the trouble to put together to help you?"
I really hope these pages help people to get their DNS323 working.
