D-link DNS323 Setup ftp access and test - part 1

The idea came to me that perhaps I could set up the ftp server in the DNS323 and see whether or not that helped, here's what I did to get ftp working, this was surprisingly easy.

First a group was set up, called a, then a user, alan, was set up within that group.

 

Here I'm giving all of group a root access, with read-write access for test purposes.

 

Click save settings and the changes are saved to the unit, it happens very fast.

Which means all of group a now has access, so let's see if we can connect using ftp
